Mud, dirt, hair and dust are inevitable around horses,
so here are a few simple tips to help extend the life of
your WILD Horse products and keep them in top shape.

Horse Rugs

Treated rugs can be washed. We advise hand or machine washing (gentle cycle) in cold water with a mild detergent. A good wool wash is ideal. Ensure rugs are thoroughly rinsed out and then line dry. Do NOT iron, tumble dry or dry clean as this takes the treatment from your rug.

Rug Storage

If you’re packing your Rug away for winter, ensure it is clean and completely dry prior to packing as moisture and damp Rugs with our treatment process can in rare or extreme conditions react with our metal buckles and cause surface rusting of hardware or rust spots on your fabric. This will only be superficial and will not affect the treatment or use of your Rug in general if movable clips become stiff a metal treatment oil like WD40 can be added. Store in an enclosed moisture free area away from any feed, plastic storage bins can work well for this.

Fly Veils

Use a brush to remove mud/dirt when it is dry. Give vigorous scrub under water if needed. While you can wash your fly veils in a gently machine wash, we recommend brushing or hand washing for a longer life.

Fly Masks

Hand wash if possible, can be washed in gentle machine wash but we recommend hand washing for a longer life.

Leg Protectors

Brush with a soft dry brush to remove as much dirt/mud as possible prior to hand washing for a longer life.
